Halloween Party- Trunk or Treat

Last Saturday was the annual Rounds Halloween party. Rachel (sis in law) does a halloween party at her house every year with games, food, and fun, this year was no different. I dont really enjoy dressing up (Dont tell Rachel).. but I always do something so I can come to the party. Steven has had in his mind for YEARS about how he wants to be Dr. Evil and how he was going to shave his head. I of course was hoping that one day the idea would fade, but it turns out he was serious. He shaved his head, put a scar on his face and got his costume ready. It turned out pretty well. Originally we were all going to be marvel-ish characters.. me Catwoman, Korb Batman, Steven Bane, and Aubree The Hulk.. and well you can see how well that turned out.. Korb and I were the only ones to kind of stick with the plan. But it all turned out well I think.
This is Steven's half shaved head. Bye hair!
Clark Kent/superman.. the glasses werent perfect but they got the point acrossed.

My niece Bailey the vampire.
Aubree and Daxton.. cousins (3 1/2 months apart)
Grandpa and his mini me.
Aubree my skeleton :)
Playing Bloody Brains.. he LOVED this game!

Tunk or Treat-
We went trunk or treating last night at Ryan and Rachels ward. Our ward doesnt do it and we usually crash Steven's parents one but it is on Halloween this year so we decided to hit Ryan and Rachels instead. It was fun and turned out well. Korb got a full size candy bar and some other yummy snacks. Steven was excited to pass out some candy to the kids also.

Pumpkin Patch

Last Friday we had the pleasure of going to our usual pumpkin patch by Maddox and get our pumpkins. My parents always take myself and my kids each year and this year Steven was able to come which made it a thousand times better. My dad wanted to see an old friend first, so we headed to his house where his neighbor was selling pumpkins for $.25.. So we grabbed some there and while we were there Korbin had to play on their little playground set. Then we headed to Pauls Pumpkin Patch.. or at least that's what I call it. They didn't have too many pumpkins this year because we were so late in the season, but we still had fun and picked out a few more pumpkins and then got some yummy fruit as well.
Then we ended the night with delicious Maddox and a beautiful sunset.
Papa and Korb playing on the playground.
Korb being silly, trying to pick up all the pumpkins.
Lots of pumpkins!
Ha ha.. I absolutely LOVE this picture!! What a cute chunk!!!

New Years Eve

My family always tries to do something for New Years Eve whether it is going out somewhere or just staying at home eating and watching TV.  This year we decided to use our resources and reserve a few rooms at my parents "condo" (The Kimball Condo's in SLC).
Before we went to SLC we had the chance to spend some time with Steven's family which was fun.  Steven has a friend/old boss that is in charge of the new Megaplex theatres in Centerville and he was nice enough to get us 10..yes 10 tickets for the Sherlock Holmes movie..in the D-box seats! If you dont know what those are, they are the fancy smancy seats that vibrate and move around during the movie. Anyway, it was so much fun to spend time as a family (all of us were able to go) as well as see a good movie, eat yummy popcorn and sit in a cool seat.  So thank you Andy for always hooking us up!
After the movie we had to rush home, get packed and leave for SLC. It was a bit of a rush but we were able to make it to dinner on time. We decided to have an earlier dinner so we would beat the crowd as well as have room in our bellies for all the yummy snacks later on. So we went to Chuck-a-rama. I usually am just "okay" with buffets, but of course its always a bonus when you are pregnant, plus this place was more delicious then I ever remember! After dinner we went back to the condos and got settled in our rooms. We had 3 rooms.. one for Steven, Korb, and I..one for Megan my sis..and one for my parents. We also reserved the entertainment room. We were able to spend most the night in the entertainment room where we spent the night watching the Jazz, playing Bingo, eating nachos..candy..and drinking pop. When it was time for Korb to go to bed we put him in our room and went to my sisters to play Trains. We watched the ball drop on the TV and then we were able to run outside and watch all the fireworks right above the temple. It was about the perfect night, family, food, games, and fireworks.

Christmas 2011

We had a nice Christmas (as always) and was able to spend time with the families.  I always feel so spoiled when it is over!  This year was fun, Korbin still isn't to the point where he understands what is going on but he sure loved the presents he got!  We spent Christmas Eve with my family, watching football, eating, and hanging out.  Korbin got to hang out with his cousins that he doesnt see much, so that was fun for him.  On Christmas morning we woke Korbin up at 8am and we headed to the living room.  He didn't understand what was going on, but he did understand that he was really enjoying what was under the colorful paper!  My parents got Korbin a good sized kitchen and once he saw that he wasnt really interested in anything else.  I ended up opening the rest of his presents for him because he would stop playing with the kitchen.  Once that wore off a bit he was able to check out his other toys and loved them as well.  At 9am we went to Steven's parents house to hang out with his family.  Church kind of threw a wrench into everything this year so as his parents were at church we just hung out.  After we opened presents at his parents we headed over to my parents for brunch and presents.  The rest of the day we just hung out and relaxed.  We watched some basketball and football.  Then the day after Christmas Steven's family all had it off so we were able to spend the day over there again and played games the whole day.  His family always gets new games for Christmas so its always fun to get a day together to learn how to play them.
Anyway, we had a nice Christmas and Korbin enjoyed every minute. He was such a good little boy and loved being around his cousins.  We hope everyone had as good of a holiday as we did!

Thanksgiving 2011

This year was a lot like the other years during Thanksgiving. We have the opportunity to spend time with both Steven's family and my family on Thanksgiving and we get to eat two delicious meals. And lucky for me, this year I was able to eat more then my eyes could imagine (thanks to the pregnancy), so I actually never really got "stuffed." We spent the morning with Steven's family, it was kind of bare this year because Dan and Casandra (Steven's sister) are in Portland going to school and Steven's brother Ryan and Rachel spent this year with her family. So it ended up being his parents, and his sister Leslee and husband Devin. It was a nice cozy lunch and we had a lot of time to just relax and enjoy the day. We always get a new game over there so we got to play that and some other games while Korbin and Makayla slept. Before we left to go to my parents house Steven's dad needed help getting the tree up from the downstairs. Now..this tree is HUGE and he refuses to take it apart so to put it up and down we actually have to use the deck and rope and a few people to pull it up to the upstairs. Yes, I know, sounds funny..and it always is! So here are some pictures of the event..
 Korbin eating turkey!
Mom, Korbin, Cousin Makayla, and Aunt Leslee
Its blurry, but I still love it!
Step 1- Tie the tree to the rope and throw the rope to the deck.
Step 2- Start pulling the HUGE tree up
Step 3- Have the top of the tree fall off and onto the cement because of the lack of tieing.
Step 4- Pull up half the tree while someone else is holding the top part of the tree because it is still connected by lights.
Step 5- Get 3 people to bring in the tree
Step 6- Realize that the very top of the tree is still missing and go search for it.  Then top the tree off when its found.
Korbin and Makayla watching the adults look silly as they try to get the tree up. I think this picture is super cute!

After the tree event we spent around 3pm until 9pm at my family's house for another celebration.  We had more people there, my brothers, sister, grandparents, and aunt.  It was delicious (as always) and then we spent the rest of the day watching football and eating more and more!  And of course we ended the night back at Steven's family for more games and pie.  I think we left there around 1am or so and we had fun learning some new games and just hanging out.
Our Thanksgiving was really nice and I am always thankful for the wonderful families we have!
Thanks for coming to our blog! We hope you enjoy reading about our life and please leave a comment so we know you stopped by!!
