Graduation

Well it is official, I have FINALLY graduated college! Wow that was such a long, exhausting, not fun road.. and hopefully one day I can say it was well worth it. This semester was pretty hard for me because I was dealing with morning sickness as well as 15 credit hours, and working full time. It was hard for me to find motivation to do homework especially when I felt so sick. Luckily the sickness went away about a month into the semester and my motivation slowly came back to where I could actually concentrate on school.
I decided to go to my graduation and walk, usually I am not into this and I don't like when all eyes are on me, but I had some family remind me that I probably would regret it if I didn't, so I went and they were right. I was very glad I went! I spent the morning with my parents and sister as we ate at the graduation luncheon and just sat and talked. After the luncheon was the graduation. The graduation was nice and short (1 hr and 10 mins) and then I got to see my family and see how proud they were of me. I was so amazed at all the love and support I had just at the graduation, let alone the people that weren't able to come. I really do have the two most amazing families! After a bunch of pictures we got the chance to go eat at the delicious Maddox, and boy was it DELICIOUS!
To end my exciting day Steven and I had the chance to go to the first home Jazz playoff game and it was a blast.
I am so excited to finally be done with school. I wish there were job opportunities right now so I could jump into the career that I want, but I am going to just patiently wait and hope that I can get into a teaching job in the next few years.
Thank you to all my family and friends who helped and supported me throughout my long college career!

The wait is over.. well almost!

Today was the big day Steven and I have been waiting for in three months. Today was the day we FINALLY signed our papers to close on the house! I think buying this house put me through more stress then all my years of school combined! It seemed like everything was going wrong, and no one was willing to help us, and the mortgage lady didn't seem to have any rush on our papers.. but finally we have made it to the end, well the end of paper signing at least! It looks like we will happily be moving into the new house on Saturday! I honestly thought this day might never happen, but I think it just might! We are getting some big strong guys in the family to come help us move..and as nice as it will be for me to just sit back and watch, I feel bad that I am not helping much, so hopefully the guys will know how helpful they are being. Steven and I took the day off on Monday to start unpacking everything and maybe we can stop living in boxes like we have been the past 2 months.
I think once the move is over I will be able to finally concentrate on more important things like getting through this semester, and getting ready for the baby. I finally ordered graduation announcements.. I wasn't going to because it costs an arm and leg for even a few, but I got convinced otherwise. Now I think I am glad I did because it will be once in a lifetime thing. I have been trying to push the whole graduation thing out of my mind because I don't want to get too anxious about it, but boy am I ready to be done! I have been going forever it seems! I didn't take a break last summer and the past 4 semesters I have been taking 15 plus credit hrs (2 semesters of 19 cr hrs).. so I am completely ready to be done.
The baby is doing really well.. we had an appointment a few weeks ago and the dr said he looks good.. very healthy! He was about 3 oz bigger then normal at our 20 wk appt, so that is good. I feel him move all the time and it gives me tons of comfort because I know he is doing good in there. I think the first few months are so stressful because you don't feel the baby move and the risk of a miscarriage is higher, so yay for getting this far! I finally stopped being sick and it is so much nicer! I now enjoy food except for a few things like processed chicken and frozen pizza's can still be a little hard as well. But everything else usually sounds good! I have not one but two breakfasts, lunch, then I will get home from work and eat again, then I will have dinner, then I will have a snack (usually an apple) in bed! Boy.. this whole pregnancy thing is starting to cost a pretty penny, but it will all be worth it!
I think everything else is doing good! Hopefully the next time we blog will be in our new house! Yay!!

Yes, the rumors are true!

So as some of you have heard.. I am pregnant! I decided not to post the news for a few months because as weird as this sounds.. the less attention the better! But, I am curious of what people think we are having! Are we having a girl? Are we having a boy? Steven and I really want a lil boy, but of course we will be happy with whatever we are given. Either way it is going to be exciting for us!
Now to answer some questions that I have heard in the past few months.. first of all I hear.. how far are you? I am 15 weeks along (4 months) What are you having? Well.. I dont know yet.. but if we are lucky, next wed (Feb 3) we are hoping to find out! And another question we hear.. Was this an accident? Uhh.. no. Completely planned.
Things have been pretty crazy for us the past few months. First of all I have been sick for over a month, luckily the sickness is finally, slowly getting better.. I am now kind of a person again! I am also in my last semester of school! Well hopefully! That is pretty stressful in itself, but I will be extremely happy when I am done in 2 months and 26 days.. but who's counting?! And also, we are currently in the process of buying a house! We are extremely excited to finally have a real place to call home! So hopefully by the first of March we will be moving into the new house! We have made some huge steps this year and we hope it is a great year for us!
That is about all that is new with us! I put a poll to the right side so you are welcome to make a guess of what we are having!

Busy, busy, busy

Wow! Steven and I are two busy bee's. I feel like I never get to see my husband! During the week Steven and I see each other for about 2-3 hrs per night and for us that is not much time at all. Usually during those few hours we are doing some type of homework which makes our time even less. This semester has been a busy one for both of us, I am student teaching and working, and Steven has some demanding classes and works. So we are extremely ready for a break! Why is it not December yet?! I mean, no I am not ready for Christmas, but I cant handle being a nobody, not having time for anyone or anything, and not having energy to do anything! I can not wait until we are finished with school and can spend quality time with each other. And heck, summers off together.. nothing is better than that!
So as you can see, we haven't had a lot of time to blog or do other things that I want to get done. Another reason I haven't blogged in a month is because nothing too exciting has happened to us. We have done some fun things like go to the ReAL playoff game on Halloween, we also went to a fun Halloween party that my sister in law throws every year, we have had a lot of fun playing with our nieces and nephews, and we are still playing indoor soccer, which the past year or two has become my favorite sport! I LOVE IT! It helps to have the most supportive husband that will boost you up even when you know you shouldn't have missed that shot! He is so great to play with which makes it fun for everyone!
Student teaching is going well. The kids are crazy, but fun. I have learned so much from this experience that I would never learn from a classroom, so I am glad I get to gain that knowledge. But, I will be even more glad when its over!!!!!!!
And in other news.. The Jazz started last week which Steven and I are extremely excited about! So hopefully we will save our pennies and get to go to a few games this year.
Well Happy November! I cannot believe it is already the end of the year, it freaks me out! But hopefully next year will be as happy as this year has been! I am one lucky girl to have a wonderful husband and family!

School, Life, and Football

I haven't had the chance to blog a lot lately so I will have to start back to when school started 4 weeks ago. Wow I cant believe it has gone this fast! This semester for me is student teaching. What this means is that I go to Weber State's Children's school and teach every day. I go from 7:30am until 12pm and then from 12 to 1 I have a class for student teaching. I also have a night class on Tuesday nights. Then I go to work every day from 1:15p to 7:30p. So there is my life!
So anyway, I was extremely nervous about student teaching to the point where I was extremely grumpy and sad. But the time came anyway, now we are 4 weeks in and I look forward to going to school everyday. I absolutely love these kids and think they are so cute and so smart. I am impressed by them everyday! I didn't think I would be to this point already where I am excited to teach and have that responsibility, but I am! I love it. So that is good news for me! Student teaching ends the first week of December. After this semester I will hopefully have one semsester left and I can finally graduate!
One thing that is getting me through these months is knowing that on Sept 26th Steven and I will be going on a cruise! We have had this planned since November of last year. We have saved our pennies and never thought we would ever get here, but it is less then two weeks away!! We are going with two of our best friends Rachel and Ryan (Steven's bro and sis in law), and most of Steven's family which includes 2 grandmas, 1 grandpa, parents, and sister. There is 12 people coming with us. We are all so excited, Steven's grandma even went to the extent to get us these cute shirts for the cruise. After the cruise we can look forward to being half way done with the semester!
And as you all know football started today!! Oh how we are soo excited!! This is the season that we absolutely love and look forward to! Here are some things that we look forward to during this season. Football, heat bags, cooler weather, shows starting again, hoodies, sweatpants, slippers, lots of cuddles, and bundling up in a blanket. As for football.. Steven and I are in a pick'em game and a fantasy football league, so we are watching as many games as possible! We hope to win in both of them cause then we could get some money! But either way it is fun to do!
Everything else is going great right now! I feel like I have been incredibly blessed and given so much, sometimes more then I think I deserve, but non the less, I am thankful for it! I am one happy girl and fall in love with Steven more and more every day!

SCHOOL

Back to school.... back to school.... to prove to my dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up... by boots tied tight... I hope I don't get in a fight.

That's right. Many of you know that school has begun. It's quite unfortuneate. I have made a decision in my mind that I'm not going to complain about school this semester. As much. I'm lucky I have the means to go, and more school means less school later on. So I'm going to just go and do what I have to do
I have been to my classes and they seem alright. I have two classes from Dr. Carboni, which is great because I've had him for 3 other classes before and it's usually pretty fun. Not a TON of homework. There are always one or two pretty tough assignements that stress me out, but better than most teachers.
My other class that I have on Tuesdays and Thursdays is sweet! It's called "Lifetime Leisure Activities." The class consists of different sports that a person can do throughout their life. Not team sports because a majority of people don't participate in team sports after high school. So I will be learning: Juggling, Curling, Hiking, Ice Skating, Unicycling (yea that's right), rock climbing, cross-country skiing (probably just talk about it since there won't be snow in time), Frisbee, Snorkling/SCUBA, boomarang, and more! Now what's better than that? I think I might have just crapped my pants talking about it.
The great thing is that participation is worth 50% of your grade. "Dr. Fun" was explaining that if we missed days we were SOL because there was no way to make up the stuff we were doing. There's not really any assignments per se. I was stressing because I'm going on a cruise Sep 26th-Oct 3rd! As I was starting to sweat the situation "Dr. Fun" says: "You'll notice there's no class from Sep 24th-Oct 10th because I'm going on a cruise." So I won't have to miss any days in that class. Problem solved!
"Dr. Fun" gets to go on this cruise and write it off on his taxes as "research" for his P.E. profession. That's a pretty good deal. He's got a pretty awesome job. I'm excited because one day I'll have a sweet job where I get to play. So bring on the school! I gotta get done.

It is finally here!

I have been hoping for this month all year, and no it's not just because its my birthday! Silly people! This week I will have finally made it through my summer semester! All I know is that I bit off way too much, way more then I could chew, but now that it is winding down I am definitely glad I did it! If I wouldn't have taken a full school schedule and that cooperative work experience then I would not be able to graduate until December 2010. But.. since I did take all that crap this summer I will get to graduate April 2010! yay!! Well that is if I pass all my classes! So although my summer sucked really bad I am glad I did it. So thanks for all your encouragement! But dont feel too sorry for me because I did have an awesome summer!
This summer hasn't been much of a dream summer for me, but I cant say I didn't enjoy it because I had an awesome summer! Steven and I did so many things that I sometimes had a hard time catching my breath. Steven has had a great summer. If you ask me I think he has had his dream summer (aside from working). He has got to golf almost on a weekly basis, camp, gone to ReAL games, vacations, lots and lots of video games with friends, movies, played sports, and many other things that I cant think of. But over all I think he had a really nice summer.
We just got back from our awesome trip to Illinois and Nauvoo, I plan on putting a new post with pictures on soon! We did have an amazing time and we enjoyed spending time with the Shaw family. So keep checking my blog k!?
Hope everyone is doing well!

Bit off more then I could chew!

So lately I have been dragging my butt big time on everything I do. I feel like my effort towards anything and everything has dropped drastically and I feel like I am basically not a person anymore. First of all my house is a disaster! Luckily I have the best husband in the world, and he understands that I need him to help me this summer, and he has basically been the only one keeping this house clean and the lawn looking nice, so thanks sweetie!! Steven has enough to do as it is and then he gets the pleasure of picking up my slack. So on his days off he gets to waste his day away doing my stuff instead of relaxing and having a day to himself. I try to get everything done I can and I try not to waste time when it can be put better use, but sometimes I just want to do absolutely nothing. I definitely feel like I have bit off more then I could chew this summer.
This summer I signed up for five classes at school, where one of the classes is that I have to get a job at a daycare and work 145 hrs during the semester. So I have all that going on as well as working full time at the Jail. I gave myself the confidence I needed to sign up and start going, but now I am running low on everything. I have such a hard time waking up because I am so exhausted. I get a decent amount of sleep, but I think all the stuff I am trying to do is wearing me out and maybe I should sleep more? So every morning I force myself to get out of my wonderful comfy bed and spend another day doing stuff I want to be done with. I start to get discouraged and think that it's never going to end and then every once in awhile I will snap out of it and realize that I really am so close to being done! (10 months)
I absolutely love the time I have spent at the daycare and I have learned so much, but I feel bad because I want to be able to give these kids all my energy and time and unfortunately I cant. It gives me hope when I have a class of my own because I know I will love it. Teaching is such a satisfying job and I am so so excited to teach!
I miss my summer already. I miss staying up late no matter what day it is.. I miss sitting outside talking, I miss swimming and boating and camping, and most of all the freedom. I have put myself in my own jail where my summer is wasting away. I know that I will be extremely happy when I finish school and can finally move onto the next step of my life, but right now I cant help but be stressed and tired.
Now I don't want you thinking that I am a depressed, sad person because I am not. I have done so many fun things already this summer and I really try to not complain much because I am so lucky to have the things I do. I feel like I have been blessed so much and if things continue to go our way, our life will be perfect! So as much as I hate my lack of personal time this summer, I am very thankful to be in this position and have two jobs that understand that I'm doing my best as well as a husband to support everything I want to do.
So when this summer is over a huge weight will be lifted off my shoulders and that stress will be gone (at least for a few weeks until my student teaching starts!), but that few weeks of stress free living will be all I need to finish school.
Life is what you make it!!
Thanks for listening! And if I ever want to do something crazy like this again please remind me of this summer and I will definitely think again!!

One day in 2011!!

Well I have a few things to say in the next post or two.. so here goes!! Steven and I have been keeping ourselves busy (not by choice) as we continue to work full time and go to school full time. Our Spring semester is almost over and ends the last week of April, so now it starts the more stressful part of the semester! I personally will just be happy to be done! This semester hasn't been too bad for me, I have enjoyed my time in the children's lab and I will miss all those kids this summer! It has been a huge joy to me and I love watching them grow! This summer I am planning to go to summer semester and take 15 credit hours.. I am not excited! One of the classes is called "Cooperative Work Experience" which is basically I have to get a job at a preschool and work 135 hrs (I have to get paid, which is a plus!). So I have been running around trying to find any preschool that will hire me for 3 months, which is hard for more then one reason! My other classes should be okay and I hope that I can handle it.
Steven applied for the Education program again in Feb. We both didn't make it last semester and I was really sad about it. I found another way around the program and plan to graduate May 2010. Steven has no other way around this then to actually go through the program. Well anyway we got the letter in the mail from the Education Dept and it stated that Steven was accepted! I was sooo soo excited for him, and extremely proud of him! He is such a hard worker in everything he does! So that is a huge relief off our shoulders and now on to the rest of the stress! Hopefully Steven will be able to graduate in May 2011, so a year after me.. so come May of 11, we will be the two happiest people on the planet!! This has been such a long hard road for us. I chose to fail many classes as I was having fun with boys, and Steven chose to go on a mission. So we both got set back a few years. Now we are getting closer and closer to where we want to be and it brings such hope to us! I know it sounds corny but our whole life is at a stand still until we both graduate! It sucks! We are completely and udderly waiting to graduate so we can finally start our life! Now that Steven has got accepted we can continue to look forward to the upcoming semester only because its one semester closer to being done!

On Saturday Steven and I did the annual 5k that we do every year. This is a Goldenwest sponsored 5k where all the money goes towards the schools, so of course Steven's family is always big on this one. If you didn't know.. Steven's family teaches.. we have his grandmother that was a teacher, mother that is a teacher, father that is a principal, brother that is a teacher, and a sister that is a teacher, and as you know.. Steven and I will both be teachers as well! Anyway, back to the story.. So we did the 5k! I dont really like 5k's.. I hate them, I hate running, and I hate exercising! But I always chose to sign up and do it! I think it is more because the 5k makes you do 3.1 miles and you dont want to quit, so you gotta do it! Plus I always enjoy the free shirts! ha ha.. This year was much better then last year because it wasn't so cold! But this year we also came more prepared! Steven is a born runner so he likes to kind of run on his own, and I always get lucky and have someone willing to run/walk with me. This year it was one of my bestest friends and sis in law Rachel. She was such a good sport with me because I am soo out of shape! She kind of let me chose when to walk or run, but she pushed me too. I enjoyed running with her and was glad for her company! So thanks Rache!! Rachel and I ended up running it in 37 mins, and Steven ran it in 21 mins. I was quite proud because I beat my last years time! ha ha, sad I know! But here are some pictures of the wonderful hell I call our 5k!

Rachel and I crossing the finish line!
Yes, I look terrible I know!! This was after the race.
The Gang! Syvia (mom in law), Rachel, ME, Steven, Leslee, and Devin

After the race Steven had some MAJOR pain in his elbow, and sadly this has not been the first time he has had this pain before. So we decided to go to Instacare to have it checked out.. finally. So we went..waited for about an hour there and then he saw the doctor. Well I guess according to the doctor.. Steven basically has a 60 yr old mans arm/elbow. Steven broke or fractured his elbow when he was around 10 and never got the chance to go to the doctor to fix it.. so the bone just grew back but made his arm lose a lot of range of motion.. so because of that his elbow is always rubbing on bone and cartilage. So now he basically has arthritis and in constant pain. The doctor gave us a name of a specialist to go to, so I plan to make the apt tomorrow. This doctor said that he doesnt know if the specialist can do anything.. but best case senario is that the specialist breaks his bone (again) and puts it back to how it should be.. this would be major pain for my Stevie and he would obviously have a cast for a majority of the summer! Worst case senario is that they wont be able to do anything and Steven will be in constant pain the rest of his life, and more pain anytime he does athletics (which is his favorite thing in the world, oh and going to be his job!!) So we are hoping they can figure something out, I really hope that he can get his range of motion back and lose that aweful pain!
Well I think this is plenty long for one single blog! I hope to start blogging more frequently as the semester dwindles down and I have more exciting stuff to talk about!!

Spring Time is nice!

So as you can see from our last few posts.. we have major spring fever!! Steven has been hoping for spring since last November and has been wearing shorts everyday since! As for me, I dream of wearing flip flops and my favorite plaid shorts! Just like Steven I look forward to swimming, camping, BBQ-in', and everything else that I can do in the warm weather. Steven and I have been trying to start our scooter ever since it got up to 65 degrees, but unfortunately we have not been having any luck. We got a battery charger and Steven tried to charge it for probably over a week and still nothing! Well today I decided that I would mess with it, so I went out there, moved some wires around, pushed some buttons.. and you guessed it!! It started!!!! I was soo excited and I was even more excited to tell Steven! I knew it would make his week! So I took the scooter out with my cute lil helmet and drove around the neighborhood for 45 mins! :) It was awesome!! I felt so free!! ha ha.. anyway Steven got home and it started again without help of the battery charger and got to drive it around for awhile. Now we need to register it again for this year as well as get insurance for it. But I am proud to report that our scooter is up and running again and we are thrilled!!

I had a lesson plan in my preschool lab today and I am extremely satisfied by how it went. The kids loved my lesson plan and spent a lot of time in that area! It made me happy and got me a little more excited for when I will actually have my own class!

What I think...

I seem to have a hard time blogging when I am in school. Our lives all of a sudden become quite boring and uneventful! We never seem to have time for anything and once again our laundry is piling up. I am completely looking forward to the spring/summer and I am getting very antsy about it. This warmer weather is teasing me!! I am having a hard time staying focused with anything lately because I keep finding myself wishing it was next May. I know its bad to wish it was over a year from now, but I cant help but think of how my life will change when I am done with school! I will be able to just come home from work and relax, or clean the house, or watch tv.. I wont have to spend my hard earned money paying these stupid professors.. who really dont care worth a dang about you or if you pass the class. I know that I wont have a guaranteed job when I get done with school, but just knowing I finally got my degree and that I am officially done will be nice! To tell you the truth.. I never thought that I would even get this far in school, I figured I would go get my associates and then be done. But seeing my families and also the world, I am realizing that I do need an education. Of course I would love to stay at home and take care of my kids forever.. but if I am going to be realistic, I know that we would have a sad poor life if I did that. And no, its not about the money for me, but when I have kids I want to make sure they have everything they need!! I don't want to have to worry about the lack necessities when they are born, I want to know that everything will be okay! So for those reasons, I am sticking with this school thing! I never thought of myself as one of those people that would work this hard for something, but I am surprising myself! I do get stressed (all the time!) and I get frustrated, but once the semester is done and I pass my classes it is the best feeling in the world! Now that I am only a little over a year from graduating, I am getting soo excited and anxious! I hear a future date and I immediately wish it was that date! I think.."Oh.. even if it was next friday that would be one week closer!!" Its crazy, and frankly I hate living life that way because I love to just think about now.. but I can't help it anymore!! This semester is an awesome semester for me! I love it! Why you ask? Because I am actually doing the one thing that I really want to do.. Teach kids!! I am in the lab on tuesdays from 9:30-11:30 (toddlers) and then 1p-4p (preschoolers). What a great fulfilling job that is! I love it and I don't even care if Im not getting paid, or if I will have to work longer at my job because I am there. These kids are amazing! Every once in awhile I think to myself.. "Maybe this job isnt for me.. maybe I cant handle it!" And then I go to the childrens school and it all comes back together! I am completely looking forward to Fall semester where I will get a chance to student teach (the same children's school).. Because of the student teaching, I will have to cut my hours at work because it will not be possible at all to work 40 hrs. I know its going to be extremely exhausting, but man is it going to be awesome!! If everything goes as planned.. I will be student teaching everyday from 7:30-12:30p and then working from 1p-7p.. everyday! Woh.. that is going to be crazy! But I know I can do it! I hope I can do it!! And I know all this will be worth it in the end!
So all in all.. I am quite happy with my decision.. I always try to convince my friends to go back to school and get their degree. Hopefully one day they do, but just know that there will ALWAYS be an excuse not to go to school.. always.. but you gotta just suck it up for awhile and do it! So that is my advice to people that want to go! JUST DO IT!!
Everything around our house is good! Well besides the fact that.. once again.. I have a sinus infection! Does anyone know how to prevent them?! Steven and I are happy as ever and are obsessed with watching.. Hells Kitchen, Biggest Loser(or what I call Big Fat Loser ha ha)..American Idol..Private Practice..Greys Anatomy..and we have picked up watching The Big Bang Theory (which we have seemed to like so far!). We always look forward to those shows in the week, and kind of makes the week less hectic and sucky!
Well that's a long enough blog for now! Hopefully I didn't bore you! I should have some awesome pictures next week to post so come back and check it out!

I am stressed!

So I haven't blogged too much lately because 1. We haven't really done too much worth blogging and 2. We have been really busy with work and school. Unfortunately those are what makes my life stressful right now. I am the type of person that loves to go out and do things, so being stuck at my job and at school all day everyday is not my ideal situation. Don't get me wrong.. We still go out and do fun things, but we don't get a chance to do too much while we are in school. I have to force myself to look ahead at my future to get me through the week. School is really stressful this semester as well as my job. I am going to school full time and the first day of school I found out that I have to do labs in 2 out of 4 of my classes. The labs are down in the Children's school in the Education building. Frankly I was excited to hear that I finally get to go play with kids (my dream!).. but the thing that sucks is that I am down in that school for 5 hours on tuesdays and then I have to make up those work hours at different times. So now I go to work at 7am every morning and work until 5:30 every night, just to come home and do homework, make dinner, and try to keep the house semi clean. I look forward to my tuesdays because playing with those kids makes my week. I love them already and I have only got to teach them for 2 weeks. It is probably the most fulfilling thing I have ever done. Then there is work... I got transferred in October to the Kiesel Jail. I was not too happy about the move and now that it has been 3 months.. I am still not happy. I dont really like my job there, and I dont have any really good friends there.. so it makes for a long work day. I am sad that I got moved over there without a choice and I miss all my friends over at the Sheriffs office.
The one other thing that stresses me out is my problem with trying to please everyone at all times. This week is a huge example of that. I feel like I am someone that people can rely on. I am not the type to cancel on anyone unless there is an extremely good reason, so I feel like that is something positive I have about me, and I am very proud of that. So this week I let some people down.. not because I personally did or didn't do something, but because everyone wants me to be everywhere all the time. I can not clone myself and give myself out to everyone, I go where I made plans and I live with the decision. I dont really want to go off on this too much because frankly, I am just a little mad about it. But just know.. if I make plans, that is what I am doing. So Im sorry to anyone that feels like I am not around enough, and hopefully one day you will understand that I am trying to do everything that I can.
Okay, I feel a little better now!
For those of you that dont know.. I have changed my major. It isn't a huge change, but I changed it from Early Childhood Education to just Early Childhood with a concentration on Education. So this means for me basically that I will be done 2 years sooner.. yes I am serious, and not exaggerating.. 2 years sooner! Which makes me extremely excited! If everything goes well.. I will graduate May 2010!! Yeah!! I am hoping to Student teach next semester, and I do have to go to summer school this summer, but I think it will be well worth it! The only bad thing about changing to this major is that I have less of a chance of getting a Kindergarten job.. It might be harder for me to get in, but once I do they will pay for me to finish my teaching degree. But also, they have a major shortage of Kindergarten teachers, and my father in law is the best principal around.. so everyone seems to think I wont have a problem at all. And for what I want right now, I feel like this is a good decision.
So that is my life right now! I hope everyone is doing well and having a nice new year!

It's Christmas time.. in the city...

Well.. we have been very busy and I have been sick, so that would be my excuse of not blogging for awhile. So I'm sorry! Things are going pretty well over in our neck of the woods.. We finished school last week, and we are both extremely relieved!! We both have confidence that we will pass our classes with flying colors! But we will continue to cross our fingers until we get our grades! The next semester starts Jan 5.. so it's not much break for us, but we aren't complaining! For those of you that don't know.. we did not get accepted into the Education program. We did well in our interviews and test.. but didn't have good enough grades.. so we are going to bump the grades up, and try again! I was pretty bummed at first, but now I am just trying to get in before I'm 40! ha ha..
Work is going okay for us.. Steven finally has someone he likes to work with at America First and is excited to start working with him. This makes me happier because then Steven isn't hating work! So thats good! As for me.. its going okay.. its still new, and I hate being new, but over all its good. They are very laid back and let me leave and come when I need. They also work well with my crazy school schedules, so I will not complain.
Well I have had a hard time getting completely into the Christmas spirit, and it really makes me sad!! I look forward to Christmas soo much, and this year I am sick! I am stubborn and didn't go to the doctor until today. I come to find out that not only do I have a bad sinus infection, but now I have bronchitis! Thats great! So I have been sick since Thanksgiving..and now I am going to still be sick for Christmas! Luckily I now have some antibiotics and cough stuff to help me.. So I am really hoping that I will start to feel better! But it does suck to be sick right now! All I wanna do is go hang up my Christmas lights and go see all my friends! So sorry if I am ignoring you.. I don't mean to!
Steven and I are ready for Christmas (as much as we can be!) I think I am done with his Christmas and I am sooo excited to give them to him! I think he will be thrilled with everything! I can not wait!! I am also extremely excited for our annual after Christmas vacation! Its going to be a blast! I get to see Casandra, Dan, Dalin, and Braden! I am also excited for this weekend because we are going to see the Temple lights and also stay in a condo across from the Conference Center! We are gonna play games, and eat all night! Wahoo!! Megan's friend from Iowa is coming to join us. So that will be fun!
Well I wont bore you anymore! I will blog again this week with some pictures of Brianne and Carl's wedding last sat (our cousin). Hope everyone is doing well and having a good Christmas season!

Two depressed little monkeys!

Well I think I will speak for both of us in this blog because I know Steven is feeling about the same way as I am! School sucks! Need I say more?! We have just a little over 3 weeks left of school and it feels like a century! I am soo fed up with it all. I am getting more and more stressed by the second and more and more like I want to cry by the mila-second!! So sorry, but this blog is going to be me complaining, but Im hoping to get it off my shoulders and then maybe I dont have to be soo depressed anymore!
First of all.. I dont know why teachers think that we have all the time in the world to just spend 5,6, or 7 hours a night on just their class.. cause you think about it and that would be at least 25 hours of homework in one day.. which obviously doesn't add up to just one day. So you can see how we are a little overwhelmed. My classes have gone okay up until this month.. let me just list what I had/or still have due this month..
1- 10 hour observation in an elementary
2- Two 2 hour observations in an elementary, plus 2 observation papers on those observations
3- Teaching 2 hours in an elementary about Dance Movement
4- Teaching 2 times in class about Dance movement
5- Research Project number one
6- Research project number two (each 20 min presentations)
7- Research Project number three (has to be 13 pages long.. not kidding!!)
8- Prepare lesson plans (Note.. Im not even in the Education program yet!!)
9- write a paper about my class teaching
10- And last but not least.. MY FINALS!!!!!!
Now I could go on about how much more I have, but I just thought I would list the MAJOR things due this month. I am getting so overwhelmed that I am about ready to pull my hair out! Anybody have a free wig?!
My new job stresses me out also.. I hate hate hate hate hate being new anywhere.. I like to know what I am doing, why I am doing it, and when I should do it. And now I dont know any of that. I hate bugging my supervisor about things I dont know, luckily she is very nice and seems to not mind helping me. I feel stupid a lot of the time because I dont know how to do it! It seems like I will like it and prob enjoy it a lot more then my last position, but it is hard to say at this moment.
And of course all the little things around the house that keep piling up more and more because I don't have time for it. So sorry people, but my house is a mess.. and my laundry hasn't been folded ALL semester!
I feel like some of my friends are taking steps forward and doing new things and moving on with their lives and I am just sitting still.. doing the same stuff.. and its kind of a little sad. I wish I was done with school so I could have a life and be able to buy a house and have babies! But unfortunately I need to wait for another 2 years, hopefully not longer!
So that is my sad sad life right now.. and me being depressed because I have convinced myself that I am deprived (which Im not!).. so sorry you had to read through that.. but I am slowly starting to feel better! I can not wait until the first of December!!
Hope everyone is doing well and staying away from the flu season yuckies!

Long long weeks.. Never Ending..

Well.. things have been pretty busy lately and yet, my life is so boring that its probably not even worth blogging.. but I will do it anyway! We have just been working and going to school.. we are liking our classes pretty well, everything we are taking is for our programs, so thats a plus. Besides those two things, we basically dont do anything else. We will usually come home.. do homework, eat dinner, and go to bed! Fun huh?
Things have been a little crappy for the Rounds family this past week.. Randy (Steven's Dad) has been really sick and got us pretty scared. Last Tuesday he went to the hospital because he was in some major pain, they sent him home saying it was Ulcers, so they didnt give him any drugs because the drugs would irritate the Ulcer. By Thursday night he was in so much pain that he went to the hospital again.. then the found the blood clots. So they kept him in the hospital all weekend watching the clots because they were waiting for the blood clots to break up. They were also doing tests to find out why he is getting them. Well of course they cant figure out why, so there are no answers there.. And thank goodness he is doing well enough that he came home on Monday and he was up and about a little bit tonight, he even made it to Steven and Ryan's basketball game. So we are extremely grateful that he is doing good and that he is alright! We don't like scares like that!!
Next Monday and Tuesday are our interviews to get into the Education Program. Im pretty scared about it and am just hoping and praying and crossing my fingers that we make it! I can't help but think that I dont have much chance because of my low GPA. They like you to have a 3.0 to get in, but they do accept people with lower GPA's.. so we are both going to try and hope that by some freek thing, that we get accepted! But like I said.. I dont expect to get in this time.. I hope to, but I dont expect it. I just figured it was worth a shot either way! Steven has a pretty good shot, he has a higher GPA and seems to do a lot better in interviews.. so Im hoping he does awesome and gets in!
I am completely loving this weather!! Awesome! I love the whole hoodie and blanket weather! I love laying in bed cuddling, and watching tv or a movie.. and oddly enough, I am starting to actually enjoy drinking hot chocolate! So I'm pretty excited that the temp. has cooled down a little bit!
My brother and Sis-in law are expecting their second child! I was hoping today that they would find out if its a boy or girl, but they were unable to tell! Dang! She is due March 14.. so still quite a ways away! But we are quite excited to have another lil Ryker around! I'm thinking it will probably be a little boy, but I will be quite excited for either one!
Well I think thats about it! I will try to have some better, more exciting stuff to tell ya next time!
Thanks for coming to our blog! We hope you enjoy reading about our life and please leave a comment so we know you stopped by!!
