Korbin's 4th birthday!

Our little boy is now 4! Where has the time gone!? Korb had a fantastic 3rd year which consisted of going on his first and second plane rides, meeting family in Illinois, going on a "big boat", swimming in the ocean for the first time as well as play on the beach, got another little sister, and got his own room. He is such a sweet boy that doesn't like to let anyone down, especially his mom and dad. He has a heart of gold. He is our funny boy who has the same personality as his daddy. He loves to play on his own with cars, but he also loves to have friends play with him as well. He loves kicking the soccer ball around the house. He is a great napper still and takes up to 5 hr naps. He is smart with electronics and loves to play his Lego and racing games. He is a great big brother and an amazing son. We love this kid so much!
His birthday started out going to the airport to pick up Daddy (he had a work trip). Then we got to go to City Creek and eat/play on the toys. He got to pick out a toy at the Disney Store. His family and friends all came to celebrate with us in our backyard. He had a great time and wanted his friends to stay all night. He loved all his presents and got super spoiled!

Aubree's 2nd Birthday Party!

Our little baby girl is now a toddler. Time is flying by so fast lately that it is scary! Aubree's birthday this year was extremely close to my due date so I decided that I would have her birthday party a little early and make it an easy one. I don't know what it is, but these simple backyard party's that I do for the kids most years are always a highlight for me. All the kids (and hopefully adults) had a blast. The kids were as happy as can be and all loved playing on the new playset as well as the sandbox, bikes, and trampoline. It took some convincing to get Aubree away from her cousins to open presents. She was a super happy birthday girl and actually smiled for a few pictures. She had a lot of support from all her favorite people and her Aunt Leslee made her a cute owl cake. She got a lot of fun toys, baby dolls, and clothes (and playset). It was 80 degree's but starting to cool off when the party started so it was just a real nice evening.
This little girl has been such a blast to raise. She keeps us on our feet and keeps us sharp. She is hilarious and a dare devil, she is self-sufficient and a perfectionist, she is bossy and very caring. She is my perfect little 2 year old and I look forward to sooo many more years. We love you Aubree!

BIRTHDAY GIRL

Today is Alyssa's birthday, which is kind of a downer because we both started school at Weber State again today. It's never fun to be stuck at work or school on a day like this, but that's life I guess.
I am just going to give a few reasons why I'm so happy to know Alyssa and have her in my life.
1- Alyssa is funny! I like to laugh, and she makes me laugh regularly. She says funny things all the time and it keeps me smiling. She does a robot dance that I find quite funny. She was doing this dance just yesterday and as I was laughing she robot danced her way over to me. During that process she pounded my thumb into the side of the counter top and smashed my finger pretty good. Yeah it hurt, but it was worth it because the robot dance is always funny. The finishing robot move usually has to be an arm swing.
2- Alyssa is very giving. Every year she gets a little bit of money for her birthday and we go to shop in Park City. I didn't get to go this year (sad) but she still went with her family. She came back with new soccer socks, sweaters, headbands, and more. Problem was.... half of it was for me!! This is a typical thing. When she has some extra money or time I have to convince her to spend it on herself instead of me or someone else.
3- Alyssa is very hard working. During the summer she worked two jobs and went to summer school full time! I had the option to do this as well... but I chose to sit around and have a few months off. Not Alyssa! She's motivated to get done with school and she works dang hard. I spent my summer playing golf and video games while she read about 100 books and did homework assignments between jobs. And I didn't hear her complain because I was having so much fun while she was busy working (even though she probably thought it) ;o)
4- Alyssa is fun. We're always having a good time. Alyssa always makes time to do things that I like to do. I am a sports lover and Alyssa has allowed me to continue doing things I love to do. I play in basketball leagues and a soccer league. This costs us money, but she tells me to play because she knows I LOVE it. She's also started playing soccer with me. We play in a co-ed league once a week. She's great at defense and people on the team often refer to her as "the wall" because nobody gets by her. She's started to play more offense lately and she's getting better at scoring goals.
5- We don't have kids yet, but I can tell Alyssa will be a great mom! She takes care of me whenever I'm upset or dont feel well. I had a bad Flu about two months ago and she stayed up and took care of me. She got me into the bath tub and sat there to make sure I was okay. She took care of me all night even though she had to work the next day. I was sick, but having her there made me feel better.
6- Alyssa takes action. I have a lot of goals in my head, but most of them stay there. Alyssa is a go-getter! If there's something that needs to get done, she works until it gets done.
7- This would probably be an insult to some women.... but Alyssa is low maintenance. She gets ready faster than I do. She doesn't put on 10 pounds of make-up every day. She doesn't spend a butt load of money on getting her hair and nails done. She's perfectly comfortable wearing her Aeropostale sweatpants to the movies. And she still looks great!! A girl that can look and feel good without all that stuff is a rare find.
8- Alyssa doesn't judge me. I have a lot of things I need to work on but Alyssa has never looked down on me for my shortcomings. She makes me feel good about myself and it drives me to improve.
9- Alyssa is a girl, but she isn't affraid to do the heavy lifting or yard work (usually assigned to males). She'll move furniture if it needs moving. If I get overloaded she mows the lawn to help me out. We definitely don't have a gender assignment marriage.
10- Alyssa is very adventurous! She's not scared to try new things. She did the sky coaster when we went to six flags. She's often said she would go sky diving or bungee jumping (something I could never do). When we go on our cruise next month we're going parasailing. She'll try anything once.

There are many other things I love about Alyssa. This is just the tip of the iceburg. I'm a lucky guy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Alyssa!!!! Love you!!! Tomorrow!!

My Birthday!

Well this might be post one of my birthday. I have been waiting to blog until I had a few pictures of my birthday.. but I have been soo busy that I havent had time to put the pictures on here. So I decided maybe I would update the blog and put pictures up another time! So that is what I am going to do. And hopefully I will have a few more pictures of things that are going on in my neck of the woods!

My birthday was really really nice! I think I have had like 5 mini parties and one more to come! I know, I am spoiled!! I ended up getting two parties at work, which was fun for me!! Two cakes and two cards! wahoo!! So I will post a picture of one of the cakes when Brittany sends me the picture! It was really cute! And at home.. of course we celebrate it on both sides.. So we had mine and my moms last sunday at my parents house, and this sunday will be for my birthday at Steven's parents. Oh and the sunday before that was for Steven's mom's. The birthdays go as follows.. Sylvia (Steven's Mom) Aug 20.. Alyson (my Mom) Aug 21... And ME! Aug 24! So as you can see.. it gets a little crazy! I also got to go to my favorite restaurant (Champi's Sports Grill) last Saturday and it was delicious! My whole family came and it was really nice! This Saturday I am going with Steven and my mom to Park City to go spend my birthday money!! I am way excited!! :) I always come back with cool stuff!

So I just wanted to say thanks for all the Birthday wishes and birthday presents from everyone! I love it all!! Thanks Thanks Thanks!!

Okay.. enough about my great birthday.. on to other things that aren't so exciting! School....... Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How is it possible that I am already burned out and school started 4 days ago?! I am stressing.. tired.. exhausted.. confused.. worried.. rushed.. and everything else that goes along with school.. Already! Oh man.. Im screwed! So I just sat here at my desk and figured out how long it will take me to get through the Education Program. Ok.. so if I take classes during next summer and the summer after that.. I will be done in Fall of 2010. But that is like serious business.. no breaks. Oh and I figured out exactly how many classes you have to take for the program and it is 97 credit hours. No joke! Thats crap! So anyway.. Steven and I are handing in our applications on the 12th of September and hopefully get into the program in January! Steven's program is a lot shorter then mine!! Like A LOT shorter! I dont really understand why.. but oh well! For those of you who dont know.. he is going into Secondary Education and coaching. So yeah.. school sucks.. Im stressin.. and it dosent help that in two of my classes we already have to go to schools and teach.. WHAT?! IM NOT EVEN IN THE PROGRAM!! I dont know how I am ever going to find time to go do that.. and sadly this semester will be the easiest as for the program.. so Im freeking out a little bit!
Steven and I started a little account for when we are both student teaching.. so a certain amount goes in it each paycheck. So by the time we are student teaching, we are hoping that we wont have to work (its almost impossible to work and student teach)... so we have decided that is the best bet right now. We are trying to plan for the future... and all I want to do is get through the program because I want to have babies! So everyone cross their fingers for us that it works out good..

Today is my Dad's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Dad!! We have kind of been having almost a week long celebration for my Dad's birthday. No special reason except it's his birthday! Sunday we did the usual sunday birthday party with my grandparents and then today which is his actual birthday I made a cake and brought it to work. For those of you who dont know.. I work with my Dad and my Mom at the Weber County Sheriff's Office. So anyway, I made him a cake and shared with everyone.. then we blew up some balloons and kind of decorated his office. We also sang to him.. lol, that was quite entertaining! Tonight we are going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner! Yummm... Oh and the kids got him a new cell phone, which is long needed.. and we recieved it in the mail today, so he will be getting his new phone as well! So I think overall it has been a good birthday for him, I hope!
Well Steven is slowly getting better. He went to work yesterday and was not happy about it. His throat is still extremely sore and it hurts for him to talk too much. But he is now starting to eat a little more everyday.. he is being more brave with his food choices, and says it doesnt hurt quite as much. He decided yesterday that he was just going to eat what he wanted because it hurt either way. So tonight he will be getting some delicious fries at Texas Roadhouse. Hopefully its okay on his throat. But work for him is not enjoyable. I think he will be excited for the weekend so he can rest more. Luckily he had enough sick leave and he didnt have to use any personal time, so that is good!!
Saturday we are going to Lagoon with my family. Steven managed to get 12 tickets to Lagoon from work, so my whole family is going! I am pretty excited! Casandra is home from Montana for the week and she is also coming to Lagoon, so that will be a lot of fun! The saturday after that (July 4th) My family is going to the Stadium of Fire! Im not too excited about Mylie Cyrus, but the Blueman group is freekin awesome!! So I am way excited!! And we get to spend the night at Megan's new place and play games, so that will be lots of fun as well!
Well I did the 5k last night for South Ogden Day's. It was fun. I usually do them like 2 times a year and I kind of stress out because I wanna run lots and do good. But this time I was with my sister Megan and Casandra and we just walked the whole time. It was fun because I got to catch up with them! So we had fun!
Well I think that is about it! All I know is that I am going to be pretty happy when this week is over!
Thanks for coming to our blog! We hope you enjoy reading about our life and please leave a comment so we know you stopped by!!
