Christmas 2011

We had a nice Christmas (as always) and was able to spend time with the families.  I always feel so spoiled when it is over!  This year was fun, Korbin still isn't to the point where he understands what is going on but he sure loved the presents he got!  We spent Christmas Eve with my family, watching football, eating, and hanging out.  Korbin got to hang out with his cousins that he doesnt see much, so that was fun for him.  On Christmas morning we woke Korbin up at 8am and we headed to the living room.  He didn't understand what was going on, but he did understand that he was really enjoying what was under the colorful paper!  My parents got Korbin a good sized kitchen and once he saw that he wasnt really interested in anything else.  I ended up opening the rest of his presents for him because he would stop playing with the kitchen.  Once that wore off a bit he was able to check out his other toys and loved them as well.  At 9am we went to Steven's parents house to hang out with his family.  Church kind of threw a wrench into everything this year so as his parents were at church we just hung out.  After we opened presents at his parents we headed over to my parents for brunch and presents.  The rest of the day we just hung out and relaxed.  We watched some basketball and football.  Then the day after Christmas Steven's family all had it off so we were able to spend the day over there again and played games the whole day.  His family always gets new games for Christmas so its always fun to get a day together to learn how to play them.
Anyway, we had a nice Christmas and Korbin enjoyed every minute. He was such a good little boy and loved being around his cousins.  We hope everyone had as good of a holiday as we did!

17 month old Korbin

Well I am a little bit of a slacker this month, but I'm sure everyone understands with the holidays here and all! So my cute little boy is growing up and no longer wants to be my little baby! He is now running instead of walking and saying words instead of jibberish. He got two more teeth this past month so we are now up to 8 teeth (4 top, 4 bottom). He has the cutest little smile! His bed time sleeping is finally back to normal! Those two last teeth must have really bothered him because it was a long month or two for all of us. But now he is back to his normal good sleeping self. He absolutely loves his Grandpa Shaw and spends every Tuesday afternoon with him. I think Grandpa is probably his favorite person in the world. He talks a lot, but that hasn't ever changed. He now says any word that he wants but it seems to be only when he wants. We try to show him off sometimes and he all of a sudden becomes mute! He still has stranger danger. He learned how to tickle this past month and he makes the cutest "tickle" noise as he tickles people. He has 2 favorite books and we only read those two at night.. "busy baby" and "pickaboo insects." He loves to put his mittens on his hands and walk around, as well as putting shoes on his hands. He loves when mom or dad swing him upside down and always laughs, but covers his eyes in the process. He knows how to work remotes, any buttons, ipods, phones, and now the ipad. He loves to get on the computer and have one hand on the mouse and the other on the keyboard.
He is still as funny as ever and it always leaves us expecting a fun, interesting future. He doesn't quite understand what "baby" in mom's belly really means, and we have NO idea how he will be when this little one comes. He is a good little boy, but also the most sneakiest kid I have ever seen. We love him more then anything and we are so grateful to have him in our family. Here are some pictures of
the past month for him!

Thanksgiving 2011

This year was a lot like the other years during Thanksgiving. We have the opportunity to spend time with both Steven's family and my family on Thanksgiving and we get to eat two delicious meals. And lucky for me, this year I was able to eat more then my eyes could imagine (thanks to the pregnancy), so I actually never really got "stuffed." We spent the morning with Steven's family, it was kind of bare this year because Dan and Casandra (Steven's sister) are in Portland going to school and Steven's brother Ryan and Rachel spent this year with her family. So it ended up being his parents, and his sister Leslee and husband Devin. It was a nice cozy lunch and we had a lot of time to just relax and enjoy the day. We always get a new game over there so we got to play that and some other games while Korbin and Makayla slept. Before we left to go to my parents house Steven's dad needed help getting the tree up from the downstairs. Now..this tree is HUGE and he refuses to take it apart so to put it up and down we actually have to use the deck and rope and a few people to pull it up to the upstairs. Yes, I know, sounds funny..and it always is! So here are some pictures of the event..

Mom, Korbin, Cousin Makayla, and Aunt Leslee
Its blurry, but I still love it!
Step 1- Tie the tree to the rope and throw the rope to the deck.
Step 2- Start pulling the HUGE tree up
Step 3- Have the top of the tree fall off and onto the cement because of the lack of tieing.
Step 4- Pull up half the tree while someone else is holding the top part of the tree because it is still connected by lights.
Step 5- Get 3 people to bring in the tree
Step 6- Realize that the very top of the tree is still missing and go search for it.  Then top the tree off when its found.
Korbin and Makayla watching the adults look silly as they try to get the tree up. I think this picture is super cute!

After the tree event we spent around 3pm until 9pm at my family's house for another celebration.  We had more people there, my brothers, sister, grandparents, and aunt.  It was delicious (as always) and then we spent the rest of the day watching football and eating more and more!  And of course we ended the night back at Steven's family for more games and pie.  I think we left there around 1am or so and we had fun learning some new games and just hanging out.
Our Thanksgiving was really nice and I am always thankful for the wonderful families we have!

It is true!!!

Well some may have hear rumors and some may not have any idea, but we are expecting another child! We are so excited for the future and can't wait to have another addition to our family.  We are due May 12th, 2011 which means our kiddos will be 22 months apart, about perfect if you ask me.  We don't know what we are having yet but in 4 short days we hope the baby will cooperate and let us find out! We are excited for either a boy or a girl so it will be fun to find out.  What do you think we will have? A boy or a girl? We already have the names for both a boy and a girl so I think we are set for either one.
This pregnancy so far has been better then my first one (which makes me think its a girl lol).  I haven't been near as sick and I havent had morning sickness as bad.  Of course I still have it, and it is still sucky and exhausting but my previous pregnancy I would throw up at least 2-4 times a day for the first 17 wks, this time I have thrown up maybe 10 times total which is so much better! I am finally starting to get my energy back (thank goodness!) and I am now able to do things around the house and pay attention to my child more.  I felt like a terrible mom for a few months because I was so exhausted and sick that I couldnt get off the couch to play with Korbin, but now things are getting a lot better and he has his mommy back!  I am finally starting to show although it still looks like a fat belly.. where people aren't sure if I am pregnant or just fat.  Hopefully soon I can just have a cute little bump and keep it little for awhile!
You are welcome to take our poll to the right and let us know what you think/hope we have! We will keep everyone updated and expect another baby post in about a week or less! Yay!
Thanks to our wonderful family and friends who are always super supportive to us!

Korbin is 16 months old!

My cute, adorable, funny little boy is now 16 months old. I just love this kid to pieces! He is such a character and has his own sense of humor that always brings a smile to my face. I dont know where this kid comes up with the things he does, but he keeps me laughing all the time! He now thinks its funny to give people the courtesy laugh, or what I call the fake laugh. It is about the funniest thing in the world. He is starting to say more words but he hasn't started saying every word that comes out of my mouth yet. As of 15 months and 1 week Korb started taking steps and he is now a toddling kid, and I mean toddling, I think he forgets to bend his knees sometimes. Anyway, he is super proud of himself and loves his new found talent. He still LOVES picaboo, loves to hang upside down, and loves to be tickled. He loves to color/draw and I always find him hidden in a corner with a pen and paper trying to doodle. Its abot the cutest thing. He is a dare devil and sometimes scares me with the things he wants to try. He loves any type of ball that he can play with as well as cars, oh and anything that would be fun to put in his mouth. I dont know what his obsession is with STILL putting things in his mouth but he will find things and walk around with them in his mouth for hours. Its really quite funny. He is such a happy kid and we just love him so much! He now has 6 teeth (7 if you count the one that is barely poking through) and has a super cute smile. He loves his cousins and wishes he could be a big kid so he can run around with them, but also loves when they take time to play with him. He is spoiled like no other, mostly to thank for that is my mother but it is so nice to not have to spend an arm and a leg to get what he needs. He had a rough little while sleeping at night but we soon realized that he was teething and now we are getting back on schedule. He loves his afternoon naps and usually sleeps from 3-4 hrs which is great for me because it gives me time to do laundry and dishes, my two favorite things to do! NOT! Anyway, he is the light of our life and we love him! Most of the pictures I had for last month I already put on like Halloween and such, but here are a few more.
Oh and here are his 15 month stats- He weighs 27.5 lbs (80%), is in the 95% for height and 70% for head.

One of his favorite games- throw all the pillows off the couch and jump on them.

Korbin decided he wanted more cereal so he grabbed the whole container from the table and spilled them EVERYWHERE!

Random things

We have been keeping pretty busy lately like I am sure most of you are.  Halloween started the holiday season so now the craziness begins!  Speaking of crazy.. it is snowing outside and I am not happy about it! Anyway, I haven't been good at posting about anything other then Korb's monthly updates so this post might be full of pictures.
At the end of Sept we went to a ReAL game with some of Steven's family. It was a lot of fun because we were in the section by the drums and all the crazy shirtless, confetti throwing guys. I was a bit skeptical before we got there but it ended up being a lot of fun in that section and I am still thinking about how I want to sit there again! Anyway here are a few pictures from that night.

You can't see it very well but this was after the game was over and a random guy from the crowd jumped over the walls and started running towards the refs. It was soo funny and he ended up giving some of our players a hug. Of course that is the police/security arresting him. But good entertainment!

Halloween fun-
We are slackers and didnt even plan on getting pumpkins this year, we never seem to carve them and it just seems like a waste.  But, I enjoy taking Korb to the patch and having that fun holiday experience.  So Korb and I ended up going with my parents.  It was a lot of fun and we even ended the day with delicious Maddox! YUMMY!
Korb picked out his own pumpkin and I was surprised because it was a pretty nice one! :)
Korb and the Shaw Grandparents. He loves them!
We gave Korb a plum and you will notice from the rest of the pictures, he put the WHOLE thing in his mouth and ate it ALL! He loved it!
Notice the plum face?
 Plum face again..
Korb and I at the pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun.

So I am a retard sometimes and at the annual Rachel/Ryan Halloween Party I couldn't find my camera, so these are two pictures I stole from Rachel.  I will have to post more when I steal some more from others. It was a fun night (as always) with tons of delicious treats and games. So Rachel- Thank you for always doing the party, it was fun!

Steven was the Stork that drops Dumbo off. Such cute costumes! Thanks Leslee for making Steven's costume!!

TRICK OR TREAT!

Trick or treating around our neighborhood.
Devin, Leslee, and Makayla came with us. Makayla was so funny, she kept trying to go into everyone's house.
We visited my grandparents and ended the night at my parents for Taco Soup and candy.  It was a really fun night and weekend.

BABYSITTING-
I have the opportunity to help some fellow sisters out and watch their kiddos when they are at work or doing other things. Korb absolutely LOVES when cousins come over and play. He always tries to be a big kid and loves the attention they give him. Here are some pictures of the past few months of Korb and his cousins :)

Well I think that is about it for now. Hope you enjoyed my nice and long update!
Thanks for coming to our blog! We hope you enjoy reading about our life and please leave a comment so we know you stopped by!!
