How I spend my week.

In case you were wondering how I spend my week.. I have decided to do a breakdown of the hours I spend in the certain area. (I know you were all wondering!) Anyway, I was personally interested myself in how I spend my week. So here it is!
40 hrs WORKING
63 hrs SLEEPING (I wish it was more! ha ha)
10 hrs IN SCHOOL
11 hrs DOING HOMEWORK
2 hrs WATCHING STEVEN PLAY SPORTS
6 hrs WATCHING SPORTS LIKE JAZZ OR FOOTBALL
18 hrs HANGING OUT WITH FAMILY
5 hrs DRIVING TO AND FROM
13 hrs WATCHING TV, PLAYING ON THE INTERNET (this also includes eating because we eat while we watch tv)
_________
168 hrs total

So that is my week.. Nothing too exciting, and if it was up to me.. I would work no hours and sleep more and play more and watch movies more! So what does your week look like?

What I think

I have read enough from other bloggers to realize that I don't need some major event to write something on here. So I'm just gonna start writing about random topics from time to time. Often times I ask Alyssa some weird questions. She looks back at me with a puzzled look. You know.... that "What the Hell are you talking about" look. So I thought I'd put a couple of those random questions down.

Why isn't a bologna sandwich not called a bologna and cheese sandwich? Think about it! Ham & Cheese, BLT..... why is the bologna so special that is gets it's own title. It ain't right. Besides bologna tastes like an armpit.

Why don't they make cars specifically for midgets! Just a mini version of a car or truck that midgets can drive with comfort. Instead they gotta drive around with a booster seat. Don't tell me they couldn't do it though. Those stupid Europeans all drive in ridiculously small cars already.

Speaking of midgets... why do midgets ALWAYS drive in massive trucks! If you even get a chance to see what kinda vehicle a midget drives I'd advise you to do it. I'd bet my face that they get into a LARGE truck. I guess they don't want midget cars.

What if someone had two left feet... literally! How would they buy their shoes? Would they have to pay for two pairs and throw the right foot shoes away?

Drew Barrymore is dumb!

Why do they refer to a Platypus as a "Duck-billed platypus?" Is it part duck or something? I get it, the bill kinda looks like ducks bill, but come one. The Platypus should be distinct. Maybe the Platypus came first who knows? Maybe the duck should be called a "Platypus-billed duck."

Do scientists REALLY know how old stuff is? I call B.S. on most scientific research and all their fancy smancy formulas! Don't tell me the oldest rock on earth is 30 million years old. The planet is a massive ball of rocks isn't it. How can certain rocks be so much older than all the others? Unless the planet has been growing for millions of years I call B.S.

Why do parents think putting an "i or y" in a name automatically changed the name to a girl's name. Ryan---RIan Jordan--JordYn Steve--StevIe Randy--RandI Devin--DevYn! This name stealing has got to stop before we guys have nothing left.

How come my nose is so big?

If the double left footed guy tried to run would he just go in circles? I'm sure he could go straight with some practice but it's always gonna look funny.

Now I'm gonna be up all night thinking about this stuff!!!

I am stressed!

So I haven't blogged too much lately because 1. We haven't really done too much worth blogging and 2. We have been really busy with work and school. Unfortunately those are what makes my life stressful right now. I am the type of person that loves to go out and do things, so being stuck at my job and at school all day everyday is not my ideal situation. Don't get me wrong.. We still go out and do fun things, but we don't get a chance to do too much while we are in school. I have to force myself to look ahead at my future to get me through the week. School is really stressful this semester as well as my job. I am going to school full time and the first day of school I found out that I have to do labs in 2 out of 4 of my classes. The labs are down in the Children's school in the Education building. Frankly I was excited to hear that I finally get to go play with kids (my dream!).. but the thing that sucks is that I am down in that school for 5 hours on tuesdays and then I have to make up those work hours at different times. So now I go to work at 7am every morning and work until 5:30 every night, just to come home and do homework, make dinner, and try to keep the house semi clean. I look forward to my tuesdays because playing with those kids makes my week. I love them already and I have only got to teach them for 2 weeks. It is probably the most fulfilling thing I have ever done. Then there is work... I got transferred in October to the Kiesel Jail. I was not too happy about the move and now that it has been 3 months.. I am still not happy. I dont really like my job there, and I dont have any really good friends there.. so it makes for a long work day. I am sad that I got moved over there without a choice and I miss all my friends over at the Sheriffs office.
The one other thing that stresses me out is my problem with trying to please everyone at all times. This week is a huge example of that. I feel like I am someone that people can rely on. I am not the type to cancel on anyone unless there is an extremely good reason, so I feel like that is something positive I have about me, and I am very proud of that. So this week I let some people down.. not because I personally did or didn't do something, but because everyone wants me to be everywhere all the time. I can not clone myself and give myself out to everyone, I go where I made plans and I live with the decision. I dont really want to go off on this too much because frankly, I am just a little mad about it. But just know.. if I make plans, that is what I am doing. So Im sorry to anyone that feels like I am not around enough, and hopefully one day you will understand that I am trying to do everything that I can.
Okay, I feel a little better now!
For those of you that dont know.. I have changed my major. It isn't a huge change, but I changed it from Early Childhood Education to just Early Childhood with a concentration on Education. So this means for me basically that I will be done 2 years sooner.. yes I am serious, and not exaggerating.. 2 years sooner! Which makes me extremely excited! If everything goes well.. I will graduate May 2010!! Yeah!! I am hoping to Student teach next semester, and I do have to go to summer school this summer, but I think it will be well worth it! The only bad thing about changing to this major is that I have less of a chance of getting a Kindergarten job.. It might be harder for me to get in, but once I do they will pay for me to finish my teaching degree. But also, they have a major shortage of Kindergarten teachers, and my father in law is the best principal around.. so everyone seems to think I wont have a problem at all. And for what I want right now, I feel like this is a good decision.
So that is my life right now! I hope everyone is doing well and having a nice new year!

Looking back throughout the year..

2008 was a very good year for Steven and I! We enjoyed the year and hope that this year will be just as good, if not better! Here are the major things that happened with us in the year 2008.
Braden Roper our nephew was born on January 13th. This is him about 10 months old.

March was Leslee and Devin's wedding.

April was our TWO year anniversary and Steven's 24th Birthday.

May was our wonderful/annual Cruise. This year we went to the most beautiful places on earth!! St. John, St. Thomas, Bahama's, we went with my family, it was awesome!
Steven and I also got our Associates Degree! YEAH!!

Also in May my best friend Erica got married!!

This summer Megan (my sis) got a job in Orem as an athletic trainer which we were glad to see here back in Utah!!

Lots of Camping in June, July, and Aug, which ended the camping trip with our annual Bear Lake trip with my family and Steven's family.

In August I celebrated my 24th Birthday and started school again.
In October was Rachel and Ryan's annual Halloween Party.

December was our cousin Brianne's wedding as well as Christmas and our annual end of year trip!!

We also got to go to a bunch of Jazz games/playoff games, ReAL games/playoff games and loved going to every game. Rachel and I got the pleasure of meeting Kyle Korver and getting a picture with him and his autograph! I also got my favorite ReAL soccer players autograph as well!

Also a Congrats is in order for Leslee and Ryan for graduating and getting their teaching degree!! They deserve it!

As you can see it was a great year! This year we are already looking forward to a trip to Illinois/Nauvoo in July, our annual Bear Lake camping trip, and October we will be going on a cruise with Steven's family off of Los Angelos, and dont forget the annual end of year trip with the Rounds family. We will also be getting another nephew in March. Jaxon will be very welcomed into The Shaw family.
