My Birthday!

Well this might be post one of my birthday. I have been waiting to blog until I had a few pictures of my birthday.. but I have been soo busy that I havent had time to put the pictures on here. So I decided maybe I would update the blog and put pictures up another time! So that is what I am going to do. And hopefully I will have a few more pictures of things that are going on in my neck of the woods!

My birthday was really really nice! I think I have had like 5 mini parties and one more to come! I know, I am spoiled!! I ended up getting two parties at work, which was fun for me!! Two cakes and two cards! wahoo!! So I will post a picture of one of the cakes when Brittany sends me the picture! It was really cute! And at home.. of course we celebrate it on both sides.. So we had mine and my moms last sunday at my parents house, and this sunday will be for my birthday at Steven's parents. Oh and the sunday before that was for Steven's mom's. The birthdays go as follows.. Sylvia (Steven's Mom) Aug 20.. Alyson (my Mom) Aug 21... And ME! Aug 24! So as you can see.. it gets a little crazy! I also got to go to my favorite restaurant (Champi's Sports Grill) last Saturday and it was delicious! My whole family came and it was really nice! This Saturday I am going with Steven and my mom to Park City to go spend my birthday money!! I am way excited!! :) I always come back with cool stuff!

So I just wanted to say thanks for all the Birthday wishes and birthday presents from everyone! I love it all!! Thanks Thanks Thanks!!

Okay.. enough about my great birthday.. on to other things that aren't so exciting! School....... Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How is it possible that I am already burned out and school started 4 days ago?! I am stressing.. tired.. exhausted.. confused.. worried.. rushed.. and everything else that goes along with school.. Already! Oh man.. Im screwed! So I just sat here at my desk and figured out how long it will take me to get through the Education Program. Ok.. so if I take classes during next summer and the summer after that.. I will be done in Fall of 2010. But that is like serious business.. no breaks. Oh and I figured out exactly how many classes you have to take for the program and it is 97 credit hours. No joke! Thats crap! So anyway.. Steven and I are handing in our applications on the 12th of September and hopefully get into the program in January! Steven's program is a lot shorter then mine!! Like A LOT shorter! I dont really understand why.. but oh well! For those of you who dont know.. he is going into Secondary Education and coaching. So yeah.. school sucks.. Im stressin.. and it dosent help that in two of my classes we already have to go to schools and teach.. WHAT?! IM NOT EVEN IN THE PROGRAM!! I dont know how I am ever going to find time to go do that.. and sadly this semester will be the easiest as for the program.. so Im freeking out a little bit!
Steven and I started a little account for when we are both student teaching.. so a certain amount goes in it each paycheck. So by the time we are student teaching, we are hoping that we wont have to work (its almost impossible to work and student teach)... so we have decided that is the best bet right now. We are trying to plan for the future... and all I want to do is get through the program because I want to have babies! So everyone cross their fingers for us that it works out good..

Thankful

As my birthday is coming up it makes me realize how much I have been given in my life. I also think that starting school up again is also making me thankful.. as weird as that sounds. So today I thought I should just write a little blog about how grateful and thankful I am for the people that surround me.
I have the best grandparents in the world... that will give anything and everything to help the family out. My grandparents have helped me out with everything! My grandpa has helped me put a downpayment on a car two times. My grandpa always goes with us to car shop and knows the in's and out's of the cars and the dealerships.. and always gets us a good deal on our cars. I am very glad that my grandpa came with Steven and I to get our cars! Anything that has to do with our cars he is there helping us. My grandparents have also helped me A LOT with school! As a present for getting my Associates Degree my grandparents paid for my tuition that year. That helped so so so much! Now they are helping me with school again, and I couldn't be more grateful. Without them I would be taking out loans and loans for school!
I also have the best family in the world! I was lucky enough to marry into a great family where I would make great friends. I am extremely thankful for my In-laws. They help us out in so many ways, the biggest help is the house we rent out from them! Not many people can say they pay $350 for rent for a nice little house, but we can. I am thankful that Steven gets along soo well with my family and looks forward to hanging out with my family. Im glad Steven and Casey like to hang out, because it seems like Casey comes around more when Steven is there. So that is awesome! Im so glad Steven has his brother to hang out with. I love to watch those crazy boys play their video games or talk sports or play pool ball.. its so fun. I have the greatest sis-in-law ever.. I wont mention her name (Rachel).. but its true! I think we are a lot alike and I love to hang out and talk to her. She is a lot of fun. I am thankful for my personal family as well.. they are so great to us. I am glad they brought us up how they did and I almost feel proud of myself that I am where I am at today, and I do have my family to thank for that. There was definitely some bad, crazy years for me, but they believed in me and helped me out.. and now I am finally getting to where I want to be.
I am thankful for all my friends! I love going to movies (girls night) with my friends, its so nice to get out and hang with them.. I enjoy work as well as I can because I have some friends there.. people I can talk to and hang out with.
I just felt like I have been given so much that I needed to thank the people that help us out. So thank you everyone for everything you do.. thank you for your support in everything we do.. and I hope we can do the same for you!!

Six days until my birthday!

Well this past weekend we got to go to Bear Lake! It was a lot of fun!! We didn't really do a whole lot up there and I think that's why we enjoyed it so much! A few of us got there Thurs night and set up our tents and talked for awhile, man the nights were FREEZING!! Everyone else came up Friday. The lake was beautiful and so much fun!! The boys had fun playing water football and ended up with some major scratches and marks on their bodies.. the kids had fun playing in the sand and making a mess. We got plenty of shakes and I was glad to see that my favorite place to get shakes (Chevron) was still there and making the delicious shakes I remember. We really like this certain Chevron because their shakes are made from real hard ice cream.. instead of all the other places use those stupid ice cream machines! So we were glad it was still there! We played a few games like Left, Right, Center and Steven won $10!! Wahoo! That is a fun game when you gamble with real money! lol.. we played lots of Bolo, which was fun.. and Steven and I are pretty darn amazing... we only lost once! I didnt take alot of pictures and Im pretty bummed now that I didnt.. so my plan is to wait for Rachel to post her pictures and then Im going to steal them and put them on my blog! But I did take one picture.. so I am going to post my one and only picture of Bear Lake.. its the picture with the tree's and the sun shinning.. (thats me trying to be artistic again!)

Okay.. now to our garden.. today was the day I ate my first home grown cucumber! How exciting is that?! Pretty exciting I think! So I decided to take a few pictures of it for you. I talked to the garden experts (Ryan and Rachel) and they told me that I prob should pick my cucumber because it was getting so big around! So I did! And it was delicious! I am quite excited to be able to pick a few more! I have some more growing that will prob be ready in a week or two! So I am pretty excited that my cucumbers finally grew! Better late then never right!? My tomatoes are also doing pretty well.. I ate some today and have more sitting out there ready for me to pick. Besides those two things, our garden isn't doing that well.. No watermelon, cantaloupe, or peppers.. but I am not going to be too bummed since I got some cucumbers! So below are pictures of our sad garden.. and also pictures of me with my first cucumber I ever grew!

Weber County Fair

This past week was the Weber County Fair. I ,of course, signed up to work a few days. I had a lot of fun! Not only did I get some vacation hours for this weeks Bear Lake trip, but I got to go in free to the fair all day any day, got free food, free pop, and got to hang out with cool people all day.. Oh and not actually be at work! But all I know is that by the time friday night came I was soooo tired and ready to be done! Now I am just freekin excited for thursday night to come!! But the fair was fun. My dad had me go around and take pictures of all different county things for our little awards slide show at the end of the year.. so it was kinda fun going around taking random pictures. The first two pictures are me trying to be artistic! haha.. trying is the keyword. I thought the picture of the flag turned out pretty cool, so Im gonna give myself Koodo's for that one! :) I also put a picture of my dearest father cooking.. we had constant hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken going for all the Sheriff employee's. The next picture is my cute lil nephew Ryker wearing my hat! He is getting so flippin cute! Talking lots and wanting to do everything! They are getting so cute! And the next picture is Brit and I. We got to drive the drink cart around all day Thursday and it was a blast!! So thanks Brit for hanging out with me!! :) And the video (if it works) is of Brittany driving the cart. Capt Haycock is on the back of the cart.. Haycock had taken us on a drive a few minutes after that video and almost killed us! ha ha.. he took that cart out in BFE and drove up and down ditches and hills! I was in the back and almost fell off, but man was it fun! Anyway.. that was my fun fair days! I did see a few of my old friends.. I saw Megan pushing her cute lil girls, but unfortunately I was in the cart and couldnt stop to say hi :( I also saw an old friend Mary Brandon with her cute two kids! So that was fun! On Saturday Steven and I went swimming and then went to Ryan and Rachel's house to.. of course.. play Dr. Mario. So Rach and I got to go see the Sisterhood of the traveling pants. I liked it and thought it was nice to go hang out with my sis! So thanks Rach for coming with me!! :) Lets do it again sometime! It was also nice on Saturday because Casandra and Dan were in town for a few days.. so we got to see them and the cute kids! They will be coming to Bear Lake this week, so we will be able to see them more! It's nice to have them back for a little bit. Well everything else is normal! My garden is doing great.. for me! I have quite a few cucumbers, and some are getting big and turning dark green! Oh man I am soo excited!! We are getting plenty of red tomatoes so that is exciting as well! Nothing new on the cantelope and watermelon.. looks like we wont be getting any of those.. oh well! Oh and I am currently reading BREAKING DAWN.. so no one ruin it for me! I am almost halfway through it.. I just got it saturday night and cant put it down! Oh man I totally wanna finish it! Its soo good!! Well thats all!

Series of unfortunate events

So my good old friend Megan made me realize that I have never blogged about mine and my husbands terrible luck with things.. So, I decided to today! Im positive I wont be able to list every bad luck thing that has happened to us... but I will be able to tell you the ones that stick out of my mind. Now if you know us and hang around us a lot you will have heard many of these stories before, or might have witnessed them. So sit back, relax, grab some popcorn and enjoy!
We will start with some little ones.. Steven has the WORST luck with stop lights.. he tells people this and no one believes him.. but it is true. If we go anywhere we expect to take about 15 mins longer to get to our destination. Every stop light gets him. We stop at one.. then go to the next, we stop at the next.. and so on. No, Im not exaggerating.. it is completely true. So if we want to get anywhere in a fastly manner.. I have to drive. And that is my one lucky thing.. I can get through those lights pretty fast!
When we go to movies we always have some cooke behind us, in front of us, next to us... We saw the Batman movie and there were some teenagers behind us and this girl decided she wanted to not only kick my chair every 3 seconds.. but then she wanted to kick it extremely hard while she was laying on the ground laughing.. we also went to see a movie and three rows in front of us was a little kid with a balloon.. yes a balloon!! Who brings balloons to movies, you got me.. but it was perfectly in the air so we couldnt see the middle screen.. and of course we had assigned seats so we couldnt move.. but they did move it after the movie started and I said something. Stuff like this happens everytime we go to the movies.. we now just expect it.
On to airplanes and flights.. this is where we have the worst luck Im thinking.. I personally have just as bad luck as Steven on this one.. I have been stuck between an extremely fat person that is taking up half my seat.. and on the other side is.. no joke a guy that has one of those braces with a triangle thing.. so the fat sweaty guy was on one side.. and a big sponge triangle was jammed into me on the other side.. oh and that trip I was in the last row right next to the bathroom! Which leads me to the next one.. on our way home from the cruise this year the seats were all changed around when we got there.. well of course our seats were scattered.. but Steven and I got the very very very last row right next to the bathroom, which lucky for us, already reeked of number two! Everyone else was at least 8 rows in front of us. Also that same trip when we were heading to our cruise Steven's luggage was not only ripped and had tire marks.. but it was torn from one side to the other, and then they decided they wanted to duct tape it to keep it together.. no we didnt get a new suitcase.. we didnt get anything.. they said it was just minor wear and tear. ha! Thats some big wear a tear! So luckily my dad had a needle and thread (dont ask!) and so I jimmy rigged it to make it through the cruise! We also had terrible luck coming home from our last years cruise.. so if you ever see my mom.. ask her about Susan Gordan.. Good times!
I could go on forever and ever and list all the crazy things.. but I will just tell one more story.. oh and yes, there are plenty plenty more stories!! Okay on to the last story.. If you know Steven's dad Randy, you know how unlucky he is as well.. so getting Steven, me, and Randy all together is just asking for disaster! And it was! Well we like to go to Raptors games... so Randy got us tickets and we headed over there.. We go find our seat and find out that the person next to my seat had already spilled their drink all over, so the whole floor was completely sticky.. So we sit down anyway and try to enjoy the game.. well OF COURSE we are sitting in the same 2 rows as the mental retarded people.. I am being serious, not mean. So that was interesting. Well there was a lady that had to get up and leave every about 4 mins.. so we got some good exercise with standing up and down.. she would always put her hand on my shoulder.. a bit akward! The guy sitting next to me had an oxygen tank and LOVED the game.. he also LOVED staring at me.. and man was that creepy! Well he also liked to get up and leave every few mins.. he always went to go get ice.. and he would come back.. usually sitting in a different seat every time. Well one time he just got back from getting ice and he managed to somehow spill the WHOLE cup of ice down my father-in-law's back.. ha ha.. that was hilarious.. of course the guy didnt know and went to get another cup of ice that he would soon spill all over me. So this same guy decided he wanted to sit in the row right behind us and about four seats over from me.. So you would think that nothing else would happen to me since he was clear over there.. well you are wrong! He got up and started dancing and his wonderful oxygen tank fell.. well it didnt fall in front of him, it fell four seats over and down a row, to magically hit me in my shoulder! His oxygen tank hit me in the shoulder!! ha ha.. how does that physically happen!? Well we managed to see a lot of things that night including a big guy pushing a mexican down the stairs because he accidently stepped on the other guys kids foot. Of course they were just on the next row over from us. So us three together is a disaster! We dont have luck in card games, in drawings, in anything.. so most of the time we dont bother with luck!
Well I hope you have been entertained by these silly little things that have happened to us. I would have loved to go into more detail about them, but I would have to write a novel for that to happen!

Completely Home Made!

So on Sunday Steven and I watched "Big Daddy's kitchen" on the Food Network Channel. Well Big Daddy was showing how to make homemade chicken strips and fries... my two favorite things! So Steven and I thought it would be fun if we tried it! I love to make home made fries and usually make them a few times a month, but I realized that I had this grater that would be perfect for fries! So I got it out and tried it! Yup, it was perfect.. cut those potatoes into perfect fries! So that was exciting! Then Steven mainly did the chicken.. this is what we did.. we pounded out the chicken so it was skinnier.. cut it into strips.. dipped it in eggs, and then dipped it in Doritos.. yes.. Doritos! Buffalo Ranch to be exact.. so we just smashed all the chips in a bag and then covered the chicken in it! Then you just fry it and your done!! So this was our first go-around with completely home made stuff.. we tasted it and it was DELICIOUS! Might be our favorite dinner! So try it! But here are some pictures of last night's dinner!

The best month of the year!! Happy August!

Well nothing new is going on in my neck of the woods.. just making it through the summer! Steven and I have been pretty busy doing random stuff.. it felt like this week wouldn't end! Everyone wanted us to be everywhere. So we did our best and had fun doing it. We figure we might as well party it up because in 3 weeks we will officially be anti-social school/work boring people! Of course school starts the day after my birthday.. Happy birthday to me! I'm a little excited for school only because Steven and I are finally taking classes for our majors.. and that is a huge relief and even though we have a few years.. there is a tiny light at the end of the tunnel. I feel like we are truly blessed with our families.. they have helped us soo much with school and we will forever be grateful! All I know is that I am going to be one happy women when I am done with school. We will be able to buy a house, which makes me excited.. we will be able to have an option of having a kid.. and of course we will be able to be in our career! So sorry for everyone if you dont want to hear about us going through school.. cause that's our life for the next few years! Oh and we got our diploma's the other day and my mom got us some frames, so I put them in the frames and will be hung up in our spare bedroom! Yeah!!
Our annual Bear Lake camping trip is next friday (15th) which I am extremely excited about!! If anyone wants to come up and stay a night you are more then welcome.. just let me know and Ill give you the info! Anyway.. So we do this annual camping trip.. it started out that I wanted to do a last hurrah before my sister left for 2 years to grad school.. so I invited my family and Steven's family. The first year wasn't the greatest.. but last year it was a blast!! Everything went well, everyone got along and we just had a nice, fun, relaxing time. So Im pretty excited for this years. I am usually the one to plan this, and it always seems like I am the one to plan anything fun, but I guess I figure if I dont plan it, then we wont do anything fun ever.. so I would rather plan and have fun, then not plan and not have fun.. Right?! Im pretty bummed that Ryan and Rachel dont get to come this year.. I was really looking forward to having them there! But I guess I dont always get everything I want! lol.. We are all pretty excited because Casandra and Dan are coming down for the trip.. and we havent seen them in quite awhile! So that will be fun! I will definitely have some pictures to post when we get back!
This week is also the Weber County Fair. Im pretty excited about it for a few simple reasons.. well I work for the County so I get a choice to work the fair or not.. so of course I jumped right on that! I get to work there getting free pop and food instead of working in the office getting nothing free.. so that will be nice! I am working 3 shifts.. so I will be working a few extra hours which will give me the hours I need off for Bear Lake! Wahoo!! I dont have to take any vacation time off, and Im definitely happy about that! So I got my wonderful "deja Moo" shirt lol.. and I will be wearing that bright neon shirt all week! But at least Ill be getting a tan! Oh and the other cool thing is that Ill be working with my bestest buddy Brittany so we totally get to chat ALL DAY!! Which is the total opposite at work. We usually get in trouble if we even look in each others direction! lol.. so that will be fun!
Our garden seems to be doing pretty good.. I think! We are getting lots and lots of tomatoes.. they are even getting red! Wahoo! We are finally getting some tiny little cucumbers! I am soo excited!! It looks like we will only be getting one pepper this year! So that kind of sucks.. and everything else is just kind of growing.. I dont expect much of anything.. but its our first garden so even growing something is pretty good!
So that's my week in a jiffy.. I will hopefully be posting some pictures soon!
Thanks for coming to our blog! We hope you enjoy reading about our life and please leave a comment so we know you stopped by!!
