Today is my Dad's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Dad!! We have kind of been having almost a week long celebration for my Dad's birthday. No special reason except it's his birthday! Sunday we did the usual sunday birthday party with my grandparents and then today which is his actual birthday I made a cake and brought it to work. For those of you who dont know.. I work with my Dad and my Mom at the Weber County Sheriff's Office. So anyway, I made him a cake and shared with everyone.. then we blew up some balloons and kind of decorated his office. We also sang to him.. lol, that was quite entertaining! Tonight we are going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner! Yummm... Oh and the kids got him a new cell phone, which is long needed.. and we recieved it in the mail today, so he will be getting his new phone as well! So I think overall it has been a good birthday for him, I hope!
Well Steven is slowly getting better. He went to work yesterday and was not happy about it. His throat is still extremely sore and it hurts for him to talk too much. But he is now starting to eat a little more everyday.. he is being more brave with his food choices, and says it doesnt hurt quite as much. He decided yesterday that he was just going to eat what he wanted because it hurt either way. So tonight he will be getting some delicious fries at Texas Roadhouse. Hopefully its okay on his throat. But work for him is not enjoyable. I think he will be excited for the weekend so he can rest more. Luckily he had enough sick leave and he didnt have to use any personal time, so that is good!!
Saturday we are going to Lagoon with my family. Steven managed to get 12 tickets to Lagoon from work, so my whole family is going! I am pretty excited! Casandra is home from Montana for the week and she is also coming to Lagoon, so that will be a lot of fun! The saturday after that (July 4th) My family is going to the Stadium of Fire! Im not too excited about Mylie Cyrus, but the Blueman group is freekin awesome!! So I am way excited!! And we get to spend the night at Megan's new place and play games, so that will be lots of fun as well!
Well I did the 5k last night for South Ogden Day's. It was fun. I usually do them like 2 times a year and I kind of stress out because I wanna run lots and do good. But this time I was with my sister Megan and Casandra and we just walked the whole time. It was fun because I got to catch up with them! So we had fun!
Well I think that is about it! All I know is that I am going to be pretty happy when this week is over!

New Layout!

Well today I was EXTREMELY bored at work today and started looking at some new layouts. And I came to a conclusion that I'm not into the brown right now.. but I am however always interested in hearts! So hopefully you like the new layout. Steven helped me pick it out and I copied the main picture idea from Brittany. So Thanks! :)
It is finally Friday!! Thank goodness! This week has been okay, it has been kind of a relaxing, chill week. Steven is still at home trying to get better. These past couple days have been the worst and its not seeming to get too much better right now. He doesnt like that very much and I think he is just sick of laying around. Thank goodness for his mom! She has stopped by while I have been working and have been getting him Jamba Juices and keeping him company! I think that it cheers him up a little bit. So that's a start. But I would say he is about the same as he was tues, wed, and thurs. So cross your fingers that this is the last bad day!!
Our garden is doing good! I am soo excited to have our first garden doing so well! This hot weather made it sprout! We now have little sprouts for all of our seeds. We started little this year with the tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, cantaloupe, and watermelon. So hopefully we get some stuff and will want to do it next year! As of today, we now have little watermelon sprouts!
Our test is tomorrow morning for 4 hours.. we are not excited and I just wish it was done and over with. The even crappier thing is that we wont even know if we passed for about 4 weeks! blah! I dont do good with waiting! Im worried about Steven taking the test because he is still on some major drugs and I am not sure if he will be able to concentrate all the way, but it was the only day to take it until September.
Well that's about it for today!

Day 7 of Steven's Recovery

Well as of today at 1:00pm, it has officially been one week since Steven got his tonsils out. It has been a little worse then the last time I blogged. Go figure the first day that I got back to work was the worst day for him!! And now that I am back to work, it doesnt seem to be getting any better. He says it is worse these past few days then it has been all together. I'm kinda sad that I cant stay home the rest of time to take care of him. So hopefully today he will start to feel a little better. I think he is about done with being sick and not being able to do the stuff he wants to. The medicine makes him really tired and dizy when he gets up, so he doesn't have much energy for a lot of things. He has been a very good paitent.. so that's good. He even ordered me my favorite pizza yesterday and had it delivered to my work for my lunch! :) That was pretty nice!
Other then that, not much has been going on.. our garden is slowly but surely growing. I was extremely excited to see that I had some sprouts yesterday from my lil cucumber seeds! Yeah!! Our cantelope plants aren't doing as well.. but now that we decided to start watering them (lol) they are doing A LOT better! We only have one pepper growing, but its getting pretty big! Our tomatoes are slowly getting bigger and we are finally getting some flowers, which is very good news!! So hopefully we will be getting some lil tomatoes in the next little while. And sadly our watermelon seeds haven't shown any signs of improvement. But there is still hope!!
My nursery calling has been nice. I have only been once since it was stake conference, but it was a lot of fun. It seems like there might be almost too many workers in there. There is about 10-15 kids and there was 6 workers.. Im not sure how many actually are called into the nursery and how many are just coming in to help, but Im sure Ill find out soon enough. But it is lots of fun!
Oh and Steven and my CAAP test is Saturday morning for FOUR HOURS!! Ahhh!! Its like the ACT all over again!! I am sooooo not excited!! Im sure Steven isn't either. For those of you that dont know what the CAAP test is.. its the general test that you have to take to get into the Teaching program. You have to pass Reading, Math, Essay, and one more I cant remember. If you pass then you are one step closer to getting into the program.. if not.. then you have to retake the area's that you didnt pass. I am pretty scared about it because well I just dont do well on any type of tests!! I hope that we both pass it!! So cross your fingers! If we pass it then we will aim for applying and interviews around September-ish, then if all goes well Steven and I will both be in the program in January of 09!
Well I think I have talked long enough! I hope I didn't bore you too much!

Day 4 of Steven's Surgery

Well these past few days have been nice for me. I haven't had to work, I get to see Steven all day of everyday, and I got to catch up on some needed cleaning! There is still a nice long list of things Steven and I want to accomplish before the summer is over, but it's a nice start.
Steven seems to be doing better everyday. They said the 4th-7th days are the worst, but so far its not looking to be that way! Thank goodness! He had some oatmeal and chicken noodle soup yesterday, which is a huge improvement. Not only does he have his appetite back, but he is actually trying some stuff. We have a nice long list of things he wants to eat when he gets better. We are going to get him some whoppers, go to chili's and get the spicy chicken pasta, also make some fijita's with rice, we will be going to Gridelli's also. So I guess I better save my pennies!! But I am hoping that he will continue to get better each day! I am just glad that he finally got it done! It was pretty sucky having him feel sick a lot of the time, and now I see why!! So he is doing good.. getting up and walking around a little more each day. He is being a good sport, not complaining much (which is nice for me!).
I finished "THE HOST" last night! It took me 3 days!! Of course all I was doing was sitting there reading! Steven was probably bored out of his mind!! But I did finish, and it was really good!! It reminded me of Twilight in a little way. But it was way good! The first chapters are extremely confusing and weird, but once you kind of understand it and read it, then it starts to get really good! So if you were thinking about reading it, but wasn't sure.. I say go read it! Be patient through the first chapters and then its easy sailing!
Well today I plan on folding laundry, mowing the back lawn, and unfortunately going to the dentist. My stupid filling fell out on the cruise and I have been such a slacker lately that I havent got it fixed. So today is the day! I figure it needed to be done soon, and I might as well do it on my day off so I dont have to waste another day off to get it filled!
Well I think that's about it for today! Dont worry Brit.. Ill be back to work tomorrow! :) hope you had a fun couple days there without me!!

Steven's Surgery

Well Steven had his surgery yesterday and it went well. We went in at 12pm, I went into the waiting room at 12:30pm and by 1pm he was done! I barely got in my book! After that they just had him in a little resting area and we waited there until it was okay to go home. We got to leave at 4pm. The doctor who I swear was my age!! HAHA He was really nice and told me that his tonsils were extremely infected! He said he pulled out infected "balls" that were the size of a dime! How gross! Im pretty sure when he got them out that he could squeeze all the puss out!! I'm not quite sure how Steven even made it this far with infected tonsils, but all I know is that I'm glad they are out! So the surgery went well, he is now at home relaxing! Yesterday he just stuck with apple juice and gatorade, today he seems a little better and wanting to eat a few more things. He says the pain is a little better, but he can feel the swelling. So he has been doing a lot better today, he has already had some ice cream and quite a bit of gatorade. He is talking a little more and looks like he has a little more energy. They say the 4th through the 7th days are the worst, which sucks because I will be back to work tuesday and wont be much help!
As for me.. I have cleaned out our spare room, filed (which has been needed for a very long time!), Laundry, mowed the lawn, pulled weeds, and read my book. So it has been a pretty productive day already. I am hoping to get a few more things done before I go back to work.
So that is it for now.. keep your fingers crossed that he continues to keep feeling better! Thanks for all the support!

Finally June!

Well we have offically made it halfway through the year! That is pretty crazy! I always think that a year is a long time, but as I look back to last year or the year before, it seems like it was last week! It's pretty crazy how that works!

Anyway! I got a calling in my ward now and I am pretty dang excited about it. At first I was kind of a little bummed because I was first called to be in the Primary 8 year olds, but the Primary leaders came over to give me my lesson book and they informed me that they have moved me to NURSERY!!! I am soo excited! I was in nursery in my home ward before I got married and I LOVED it!! So I start in two weeks and I couldn't be happier! Steven also got a calling, he isn't quite as happy as I am. He is going to be an Elder Quorum teacher. It kinda sucks that he didn't get another calling because now he has to go to Sunday school all alone every week. Of course there is always Grampa Dan! lol.
Well Steven is not excited for his surgery thursday! He is slowly getting more sad and grumpy each day.. I feel bad because my lil Stevie has to go through this, but I will be thrilled when its over!! I hope it all goes well with no problems! I will be reading "The Host" while I take care of him.. the book has been sitting on my table staring at me for a week now and all I wanna do is read it!
My sis Megan is moving her stuff to Orem. She found a condo that she is going to rent and she seems pretty excited about it. I haven't seen it, but hopefully I will soon! She has started some camps and stuff to make some money and will start working for Utah Valley University on monday. So Im glad things are working out for her! Yeah!!
Steven and I are planning to take our CAAP test for the program on June 21st.. I am scared to death! I just want to pass it and get that part off my shoulders, I think Steven feels the same way! So wish us luck!!
I think that's about it! I will update you on Steven's surgery on thursday!
Thanks for coming to our blog! We hope you enjoy reading about our life and please leave a comment so we know you stopped by!!
