Casidy Blair Rounds

I am happy to report that our little Casidy finally made it into this world! I had my induction set for May 10th at 7am, 5:30am rolls around and I get a call from the hospital saying that they will have to hold me off for a few hours because they got so many people come in the night before.. I was pretty depressed and I waited for them to call me back. At 9:30am (still no call) I decided to call them back..and boy am I glad I did because I was able to go in at 10:30am. I am not sure I would have made it in that soon if I didn't call. At 11:30am they started the Pitocin and we were on our way to see our little girl.  Not much happened until my doctor came in at 2pm and broke my water.. after that it was major contractions and time for an epidural.. ASAP! I got lucky and the doctor came right in to give me the epidural, after that it was much better. At 4:30pm I was dilated to a 10 and she was ready to come to this world.. of course we had to wait for my doctor to come! At 4:56pm with two pushes, Casidy was born! She weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and 21 inches long and had dark hair. We were so excited to finally meet our little girl and I was very excited to be done with the pregnancy. The labor went really well and we had some great nurses while we were there. Of course we had plenty of family come visit which is always nice and we also had time to ourselves. Steven went home that night so our other two kids could sleep at home.. they seemed to have a harder time sleeping when we weren't there. I got a good amount of sleep that night and was able to rest all of Sunday. We left the hospital right before 6pm on the 11th (Mother's Day).
So far our little Casidy has been a great baby! She rarely cries and is an excellent sleeper. I often try to keep her up so she is more tired at night but she just wants to sleep all the time. She is a good eater and at her doctor's apt this past week she had only lost 5 oz, which according to the doctor the average for her weight would have been 8 oz to 13 oz.. so she was doing well.
She finally lost her umbilical cord last night and we are excited to give her a real bath. As for sleeping at night, we are at night #3 where she has slept from 11:30pm-4:30am, and 5am-10am... so I am a pretty happy mom with a good amount of sleep.
Steven goes back to work tomorrow and I am dreading the fact that I wont have him here to help me during the day. I think the kids will have a hard time adjusting as well because he has been around for 10 days straight.

This picture makes me laugh.. Casidy is already wondering what she got herself into! haha
All bundled up and ready to go home!
